How did you get on with immersion heater in tank ?
« on: January 18, 2011, 10:51:33 pm »
Hi,

well it got me through the bad cold days, so far , ...the immersion heater....

and now i  put it on the timer for 5 hours...as and when i think i may need to...

think i will have hot water tomorrow actually as plenty of bird poo on the glass in the area i am working...

so i dont think i will bother with an L5 or any other type of hot water system now,

this is enough for me , as and when i need it.... and it stays warm all day with the tank lagged.

Did anyone use it and how do you go on ?

Nameless Drudge

I have mine on every day so far,am doing new customers on a round i bought and treating them all like first cleans so well happy with the better cleaning ability, big difference with the bird poo. Its not so much hot as very warm that i go out with. 4 1/2 hrs a day at 3kw is supposedly £1.50 appx. on my tariff and i can live with that at the moment, vast difference in heating times with the warmer spell recently.Got it on a timer and I`d be gutted if i went out and found it hadn`t come on and i had to set off with cold. Might all be in my head though. Having said that the warm water really does seem to melt away the bird poo/stubborn type and watching it do its job at eye level leaves me confident i have done the job right on the top windows. I stir up the tank to get the cold water under the element swished about a couple of times before i go out,i do this with a plastic spade(childs beach type) and then drive off with the pump on and the water circulating through the hose reel back to tank.
