Hi guys,

Just a quick one. I have my inlet hose in the top of my tank with a weighted standard filter, but i use a hydrant alot for commercial and have been told i need a finer filter than the standard weighted one i use for when i use the hydrant because of the bits n pieces that are apparently in the hydrant water. is this a myth? or should i invest in a cotton or inline filter for when i use the hydrants?

my thoughts are it would be hard to keep up the flow rate with one of the inline filters..

any thoughts?

Do you not already have a fine filter just before the pump? The one on the suction is a strainer rather rather than a filter and if thats the only one then yes you do need a filter. It can be relatively small in size if you clean it daily, the bigger ones have more capacity which can make cleaning less frequent. Running the suction out the bottom of the tank will also prolong pump life

hi matt   i have in my feed bowser two brass/stainless steel 50micron (i think) filters  fitted to "T" piece that jions my feed pipe   i have no problems drawing 30lts a min   make shure all your fitting are brass or stainless steel  make shure you hydrant unit is stainless or aly     when opening the hydrant i think its 4inches    just let it blow for a few second to clear any debris then you should have few problems     ps a frog forced from a 4inch pipe into a 1inch pipe make a hell of a mess

Does your washer not have two filters on anyway.
One on the feeder pipe that goes into the tank and one on the brass inlet on your machine ?
