Hi
Diagram of Split Charge Relay I use on my van.

There are available Intelligent Relays on Ebay that don't need the wire from the alternator. They are connected battery to leisure, fused as per diagram but with 15- 20amp fuses and the Intellegent relay in place of the standard relay in the diagram.

This intelligent relay senses when the vans battery has been sufficiently charged then activates the contacts so the leisure battery will be charged. You are alway guaranteed that the van battery is given priority.

Ebay 200562948140. It says it's for a Transit, but will do for any van.

Important - use the correct gauge of wire to carry the current.

hope this helps!
pop to a local motor spares or caravan spares shop.
Asl for a RING CARAVAN BATTERY/SPLIT charging relay. Most good shops will stock them,
You dont need the cable from the alternator with this type.
Just pos+ and neg- from your van battery.
When your leisure battery runs low it will not start draining your van battery, but when your van is running your leisure battery will charge up.
 ;)

Hi Kentkleen.
I see the Ring product is the same as the Ebay unit I referred to. A caravan outlet wants £20.61 after a 10% discount when the manufacturer (Brocott) is selling the same for £12.00 on Ebay.

Haven't done much this last month unfortunately - but nothing we can do about it. Don't know whether I would choose the snow again or the flooding Australia has. It maybe wet for them, but at least it's warm.
Oak Road Motors - thanks for that. That shop is packed with stuff; I will ask John Martin next time I see him how he manages stock control in that place. He seems to the the supplier to all the little garages in the area, I expect because he delivers whereas Marske Auto Parts doesn't.

thanks oliver.
My pricing is getting there i think??
My main rteason for the post was to defend us newbies abit as we seem to get all the blame for pricing low.
My £6.00 min for a bungalow may be a bit low but to be  honest i am concentrating on adding larger more exclusive properties to the books.
Just could not believe £2.50 !!! :o

The post lost its track abit.

The Shops like an aladdins cave.

Dave
