Ro or DI

water coming out my tap is 070tds  :) was wondering if i would be better of just using DI vessel or should i by new 4040 membreane which will cost me £250 and also use DI in van

there is away to work this out can anyone help?

My TDS at the tap is 050 ;D

I used DI only for the first year. RO + DI now.

It is cheaper for me to run RO as well, but I do use quite alot of water. How much pure water do you need to produce?

lucky you mate tds out of mine can vary from 300 nto 400 pre filtered thruogh a carbon vessel the di from there tulsion is the best resin i have used

I reckon it shows the worst case, cost wise.

Clearly you can get more out of the resin by continuing to the water at above tds 0000 maybe upto 0010 and you could use a twin DI to get the most from the resin.

I would ditch the RO & use 2 x 11ltr DI vessels in sequence (on the van to purify on demand) with Tulsion resin. My tap tds is 90ppm & I use 2 bags of resin per year with a 400ltr van mount. RO not worth the hassle IMO. ;)

mine been between 28-35tds coming out of my tap lately although it has shot up sometimes to 109! :o.


i use a 25L DI as im on a water meter in a flat so an RO would be out of the question.the great thing with DI only in its easy to fill up anywhere you want and does it in a fraction of the time!! ;) ;D ;D


if your only gonna use  300L A DAY THEN DI ONLY would be ok.


can i ask are you on a water meter mate?if you are and you buy an RO youll have a lot of waste water and itll take ages to purify resulting in hefty water bills.
