Gardiners poles- which ones to get?
« on: December 31, 2010, 11:41:51 am »
Hi All, I have a range of Brodex and Ionic poles from 7ft up to 60ft and want to switch to Gardiners to benefit from the lightness mainly. {the ionic poles I have are great, just a bit old and heavy compared to Gardiners}
These questions are aimed at those using Gardiners poles already and I would appreciate some advice.
1. Is the SL range worrth the extra over the CL?
2. Are they strong enough and easy enough to handle to use one pole for the first and ground floor of a standard house?
3. If the answer to 2 is yes, what length or lengths would you go for? {Majority of my work is done using a 17ft Brodex pole and 33 ft Ionic}
I will live with the big Ionic pole a while longer as I only need it every now and then and I like a challenge. It's 7kg and 3.8m collapsed!! Very stiff tho.
Many thanks for any advice and Happy New Year to everyone.

1) Depends how high you need to go. For anything up to 25-30' the CLX are fine. Anything beyond that and the SLX start to come into their own IMO.

2)Yes.

3) I have a 21' CLX which I use for all my domestic up to first floor and gutter cleaning. Anything above that I get the 40' SLX out.

i have a 27clx and my brother has a 22 clx, the 22 is noticeably lighter than the 27 clx, so i have just got a 22 slx as my everyday pole because that is even lighter than the 22 clx. If i need anything longer then i will end up going for the 35 slx. if you have the money i would recommend the slx, but the clx's are good very good for the price.

you certainly notice the difference in rigidity when you start using the SLX.
WE CLEAN BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT WITH WATER FED POLE WHEN WORKING AT HEIGHT.

I like a pole that stays rigid throughout the whole job.
