Propane bottle question
«
on:
December 11, 2010, 02:00:15 pm »
Have just been looking at propane prices , 6kg £18 , 13kg £25 .
The 13kg bottle looks by far the best value , my question is do the weights mean gas anb bottle or just the gas inside , it just seems too good a value for the bigger bottle £7 more for double the gas .
Anybody know the answer ?

All cylinders are 80-87% full as space needs to be left for the expansion of liquid.
The weight on the front of the cylinder is the total weight of gas in the bottle.

You have to pay a separate deposit for the bottle as well, this will be more than the actual gas.

And dont forget you have to leave a deposit on the bottle, i know the smallest 1 is around £30 and only part refundable!!!

i buy my bottles second hand, save loads, plus you usually get a bit of gas for free. sometimes half full.

Never thought of that dirty windows, good idea
Blue monkey , no i never sold it, i took one of the pevious lads back on again , he was good for a month then it started again , the last straw was when he txt in that he wasnt coming in today as he was tired , he only did 16hrs a week ,
Gonna rethink the situation in the new year .
