Buy the best equipment your budget will allow.

Try and save at least 4 months income for a rainy/snowy day.

Do not eat the yellow snow.

Good thread Blue, I started my biz nearly 5 years ago and have been working on my own growing organically. I have a nice compact round now but want to go up a gear and make it into a proper business in 2011. I have spoken to someone I know today who is very honest, reliable and hard working and he is very keen to come and work for me. Thats has spurred me to get the wheels in motion.
My plan is to arange a meeting with business link to tell them my plans and get advise. I will then arrange a meeting with my accountant to find out the ins and outs of the financial side of employment and then take it for there. I will hopefully have him working for me by March (once all of the cold weather is beginning to fade and I dont have to pay him for snowed off weeks!
Give me a shout mate on info@ro-sheen.co.uk please. It would be good if we kept each other up to date with our progress ans we could learn alot from each other. It will also spur us on to do better and keep up with each other! This time next year Rodders we will be millionaires  ;D

Yes, me too. But I made the mistake of targetting the year 2025 for my boom, so nothing to show for it yet.

Seriously, what are you going to do differently next year...errr month?

You need good ideas. You can either get them off here, think them up, or be deferential to someone superbright who can give you a leg up.

i have already been to business link and had a meeting about online marketing, think i am going to do more networking as they have a lot of network breakfast things down here

am looking at employing some one properly as am about 3/4 way full now,  but not impressed by the local labour market in cornwall, (the lad i have now is ok, but is only 19 and insurance would kill me, plus he hasnt got a license)  want to run as two man for 6 months and then put them out on there own,  and try to get more work

If your really serious about building a proper business you need to start to employ.

If financially possible step back from cleaning windows and put all your effort and energy into growing your business and finding new opportunities

Once you start to delegate watch your business really take off

That`s a bit half-hearted.
Be more convincing and positive.
