the hdi is a more modern engine and more bhp, if you get the 1.9 though you can run it on bio diesel or cooking fat which would lower the running costs seeing as diesel seems to be going up in price everyday, add to that the extra 2.5% we will be paying in vat from jan.

If it you're going to run it on cooking fat in this weather then you need to fit an electric imersion heater to the fuel tank as it gets very thick and sticky when its cold.

I ran a rover 25 diesel on 100% cooking oil all year around without a heater, just a little bit sluggish in the winter to start it but it ran fine

fiat scudo has its own engine ie jdt, the pug and citreon have the hdi engine, and its pretty damn good.
I dont know about the straight diesels, ive only mentioned the turbo injection engines, but one citreon salesman i spoke to told me the straight diesel engine was made back in the arc, some 30 years ago

It's still the same engine but it's called a jtd instead of hdi

I had a Citroen HDI - sooo quick compared to my Hiace. I think it must have been the 120bhp model.

Ditto.
The later Multijet engines are Fiats own engines - the JTD is an Hdi.

hi
i ve got a dispatch 04 1.9d its a good van you wont break any land speed records in it so if you are after something a bit nippier you mght need to look at something else but its ideal for me plodding around in.check all the locks as it is quite a common fault for them to just turn and turn without locking or unlocking the vehicle but you can pick up replacements on ebay.

I got 2005 Expert with the basic ,non HDI, engine. does between 26 to 30mpg and I think I last overtook someone in 2007.

Apparently the HDI do more mpg and are much quicker.
