just got back in from quoting, and during one conversation  at a quote , I asked have you had the carpets cleaned before ?

well her reply amused me.

oh yes , she said but he has had to pack the carpet cleaning in because his machine broke down and couldnt afford to get it fixed.
makes you wonder !!!!!!

I once quoted £60 for a job and the lady said "My, that's expensive, my other carpet cleaner only charged £30!"
"Well, why don't you get him to do it this time?" I asked...
"He went out of business..." ::)

I think we all probably know why!!!

I stuck to my guns, and she's now a regular ;)

I here that all the time. I do think sometimes it's just a awkward custy that they are trying to brush off on to someone else.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

I had a good one the other day. Living room, dining room, hall, stairs, top landing. £120, she nearly fell down the stairs. The last guy did it for £40 and protected it. I nearly fell down the stairs. It looks good for a couple of days then goes dirty she told me. The carpet did feel mated. I rinsed a small area, and no she`s booked in. ;D
