Longer hose legths
« on: November 22, 2010, 08:41:02 am »
Those operators who use longer hose lengths do you prefer to use several lengths of 25 ft so that you can detach a length as you move closer to the door or do you just go for long lengths and let it coil up outside or in the hall?

I have a total of 100' of 2"

It is broke down this way.

1 - 50'
1 - 35'
1 - 15'

This gives me 15', 35', 50', 65', 85', 100'.

Dont use 15' at all, but 35' is handy if you just doing a hall or, like today, a 2 bed flat.

Generally I'll remove the lenghts as we move back towards the door. Firstly it means it doesn't get in the way, secondly my perception is that I'll have a stronger suction and finally, my worker can be putting them away so that ultimately we'll be driving away from the property in less time as most of the putting awy has happened before the cleaning side of the job is finished.

As above really.

Different lengths give all permutations.

Reduce as you work back to maintain max suction for distance and avoid creating a hazard.

I carry about 200ft all the time and more if required. Most jobs are under 100ft even with a TM
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

We run 100ft on the "live" hose reel with the first 50ft being 2.5inch, This reaches most jobs, Then on the second reel 2x50fts and 4x25fts for when the long runs are needed :D
