WTF is lanelle?

got this email today

the carpet is CORMAR stonehaven
colour = fleece
fibre content  = 80% lanelle 20% pure new wool.
yarn = two fold
backing = woven secondary

enlighten me please?

i googled it but just came up with carpets made of lanelle and pure wool, didn't actually tell what lanelle was.

I can see the salesman in the shop. We have a lovely Lanelle wool mix over here Madam.  ::)

So what else do you need to know? You will have to treat it as wool anyway.

Lanelle is a trademark name for a particular type of polyprop, which is specifically designed to blend with wool.

Sound like a load of cobblers to me, but basically treat as polyprop.

It will be a stuck on "action bac" Derek so if anything could ripple - Cormar don't make woven carpets.

Wouldn't make any difference to me Wynne, it would be cleaned with a microsplitter anyway.
