Contact the site agents, the Building firms in general.

Advertise on the net. Good luck, but be prepare for a Price Battle.

And always make clear what is included and what is not!!!! Give precise detail of what is an Extra and that it will be billed.

Vio,

Thought I would add here, don't forget they will take away 20% of the price on payment. You get it back but not in forms of cash. Like deductions from tax - speak to your accountant.

You will also need to be registered with the cscs - Construction Skills Certification Scheme. You can do that via the hmrc. Just call your local tax office. With out this you wont get a look in.

Where about's are you based?

Off topic here, Who is the picture of, is that you? Your wife, or someone famous?

hi there

you will need to ensure that youve got your risk assessment and method statements all upto date, along with all your insurances.

firstly you need to get on the tender list, some companies will require that you complete their H and S checks before being added to the tender list, at this stage they will take a look at all of your paperwork, the majority of them now are also looking for how you measure quality standards, employee H and S training, enviro policies etc.

they have to complete this as they state to their clients and shareholders that they achieve x % of environmnetal  and x% of quality standards.

you then need to keep your eyes open to see what is happening in your catchment area, as being on the list doesnt automatically mean that you will get a tender pack.

good luck for now, any other questions please ask

regards

martin

A hard lesson to learn when working on the sites is something I should have been told when I started in 2002. Only take instruction from the Q.S in the form of an e mailed direction. There are lots of variations that can arise when working on sites. Re cleans, dayworks etc. Anything can happen. A site foreman can direct you to do something separate and even sign it off for you. Not worth the paper its printed on is that signiture. In that sector the only way to get a head is just to say "yes" and get it done, too much pressure. And the fellas will never leave you alone. If you went into a room to do your work, you'd have sparks, chippies, labourers all in there after you. 2 hours to screw a socket to a wall, just coz the cleaner is a kraccivaya styoodyentka iz litva!
