[Solo Cleaning]

Hi to all again

I have been looking into putting an electronic flow controller in my pump box as opposed to the flow back.

I picked up a voltage regulator module today from Maplin

Thought this would do the job. Sadly is does not.

Has anyone out there  built one themselves or Know of a cheap way of making one. I know there are commercial products available but at around the £80 mark I am sure it can be done for less

i think the eco flow unit is cheaper than the varistream i know www.cleantech.co.uk stocks these and varistream i have not seen anything like these two units hope this of use

As for cleantech : well the sites down at the moment. Does anyone know of any details on these units. When I search Google I get a site that does ecoflow magnets etc...

Can not seem to find any other info out there.

ive got a varistream save on blowing switches and have saved a huge amount of water by being able to restrict the pump flow.

are you supposed to have the flow full on, i have the omnitrolley and it has a flow control switch on. I normally have it half way.

The Varistream is much more than a voltage regulator.

update

I was back in Maplins today about the voltage regulator module that I bought.
(see link at top of page as to what i mean)

The original one was not adjusting the output voltage(well it was but by about .5 of a volt)

Got it exchanged wired into Aqua techs pump box and works like a dream. Voltage adjustable from around 3 - 12v's.

And all for the sum of £14.99

hi  Lee looked at the pump controller myself afew weeks ago .MY surflow pump i think is 7watts and that  controller says its for 3-5 watts .I would be very interested to know how its doing.

I only put it on just before a job on thursday afternoon, and only one job with it on friday. So far seems to work okay.
It takes the pump from full speed down to stop at the turn of the dial. I have it wired before the pumps own flow trip switch.
I have been making a few modifications to the aqua tech pump box so hopefully next week get to put it to the test properly.

Hi Dave

It just relies on Shurflows own cut off switch.

As i say I am modifying the pump box a little.

I bought the equipment second hand earlier on this year. I do not like the fact that i could only connect up the 10mm OD pipe to the box as supplied by Peter Fogwill. I now have it so you can use either the 10mm pipe or hozelock connectors

Can you run 2 poles with this one pump or does the flow rate go down.
