What size washer for graffiti removal
« on: September 06, 2010, 05:31:01 pm »
my tank is now fitted in van and i am ready to add graffiti removal to my list of sevices.
I have 2 pressure washers one is a PT250E from Tech-Clean very heavy the other is a small cheap 5.5hp which i can lift in and out of van quite easy after applying the chemicals will this smaller washer be sufficient to wash down afterwards. less pressure means less chance of damage to surface being treated i would think.
The obvious advantage of this would be the ease of use lifting and being able to do more work as it uses a lot less water per minute than the PT250E.
Any thoughts and advice greatly appreciated.

although some graffiti can be removed with cold water im finding you need to scrub hard with a wire brush and its a killer on some paints. you need heat or steam to take it up seriously.  ;)

I use my jetter with the gun for small jobs which is just cold, on larger jobs I use a 5 hp pw. If I need hot then I use the 13hp m/c but try to get a water supply on site. Experience goes a long way in getting the results and I have never done a course but you will get a good start by doing one

thanks for the advice guys i cannot affor hot water system yet so cold it is.
surely it depends on the chemicals used and the length of time they are left on as to how good the results are usinc only cold water.
What chemicals would you recommend as a must have van stock item.
