trying to be fair just does'nt work
« on: August 29, 2010, 01:06:52 am »
just responded to a post on the cleantalk forum from david rogers, i was trying to be fair in defending the members of this forum who have not entered into the lm vs hwe argument that he started on here. whilst also being sypathetic to his point of view.  he was bad mouthing this forum and i felt the need to defend it. i had thought it would be possible to use both forums and remain neutral in such arguments because i do not think i have the experience to comment either way however because i used the word cleansmart in my post  that particular word appears as ___________  now i know cleantalk is a biased site but surely such censorship is fundamentally wrong i will not be using the cleantalk site again because of this but i will look a right fool if when i post this the word cleantalk is also obscured from this  post, if it is  the site am am referring to is the world of clean site shame on you nick it is a very petty censorship

Dont worry about him mate :) he's got a screw loose!  You'd have better luck talking to a brick to be honest...

As for the "other forum" I cant comment as i have never used it.

In fairness to C/T ............when they started I was not their greatest supporter and got banned.............. I was very argumentative about what they were doing at the time and failed to appreciate the forum was part of their business.

I am often amazed at the posts Mike allows on here unchallenged after all they have their own products and services to sell.

thats because this site is fair minded , however the comments i made last night were made through the bottom of a glass and whilst it was a huge issue then this morning it seems quite trivial and yes nicks site is for the benefit of his business so whilst i do think not allowing a competitors name on his site when used in a justifiable way in a thread is not fair i do understand the reason for it so perhaps i should not have commented and i apologise to anyone who may think it was a personal attack on nick himself as it was not .

Hi Guys

Nick obviously pays to run Cleantalk and the pay back is to promote his products and there is nothing wrong with that.

This site doesn't promote any particular supplier and is therefore more neutral .

It does leave us open to posters with several identities trying to manipulate threads but that is the price one has to pay .

Cheers

The thing about the "ghost" posters Doug is that to most they are so obvious. I have to admit though I have been finding it a bit tiring of late as I have never seen it this bad in my time on here and it's a struggle to find posts that are'nt riddled with them. But as you say, a forum of this size and flexibility is always going to be open to it. Over on ours we have made it so that identifiable people only can join. This may seem a bit strict but if it stops the poo stirring (which it has) then its well worth it.

Pete what a load of crap ::)

if you can't find posts that ain't riddled with ghost posters then you aren't looking hard enough.

the last post by a bogus poster was the 'cleaning isn't science' topic which although obviously a wind up discussed some very relevant points,

what makes it a farce is not the poster ( marti) but the gullible idiots who  can't see it for what it is.. a wind-up.

Creighton,

What a joke - I stated in humour that I had become "the arch nemesis of this forum".

Where is the 'bad mouthing' of this forum  ??

The comment had to be read in the context of the thread.

I really thought you were a decent guy Creighton but I can see all you're interested in doing is flaming up old trouble.  Not interested.

People can read my posts and either 'get' what I say, or if it suits them better, see things with the mentality of the 'Tony20' approach.

It's a free country.   Take your pick.

Really can't believe your remarks and unfair appraisal Creighton.   I invite anyone to go to the Clean Talk Forum and assess for themselves whether I in any way 'bad mouthed' this forum.

David.

Hi Guys

Sorry David , links to other forums are not allowed.

I am going to lock this now as I don't want it to degenerate, lets respect each others opinions.

Cheers

Doug
