Hi all,
I'm just setting up a new round in New Zealand.
I'm going to be doing a trad. round and have bought:
Pulex Brass 350mm channel, 250mm Channel 2 brass handles, rubbers and clips.
MicroFiber woolly, T-Bar, 2m of Scrim and a bucket.
Most buildings in the area I'm planing to work are bungalows so I'm not getting a ladder as yet although I do plan to get a small step you use.
I've produced some flyers and will dropping them over the next couple of weeks and then I'll be following that with door knocking a week later.
I work full time in the adventure tourism industry so I was planning to work from 630am until 945, 7 days a week. In your experience would people want their windows done this early. Also if we don't have bookings I can be away from work as long as I can return within 30 mins.
I'm after all and any advice I can get, and if anyone knows of anyone doing windows over here would they be willing to discuss the trade with me.
Can anyone give advice on cleaning windows inside the home, I seem to have lots of water on my woolie and can only imagine this would make a mess indoors. Does anyone wring out the woolly first and if so how?
I'm planing on just using fairy liquid to clean with, is this a good idea or should I be adding anomia to it or using a specialized product?
I do also plan to do 2 and 3 level homes but think I will use a hose and pole system further down the line.
Last question is: How do you estimate for a commercial property like McDonnalds? Do you charge per large pane of glass or on a hourly rate?
Thanks for any and all advice,
Lee
