PROCHEM PROBLEM
« on: July 11, 2010, 09:12:24 pm »
Right I have got a prochem steempro 2000 and I have got a little bit of a problem when I switch the pump on it seems to pulse which makes the pressure of the spray intermittent if that makes sense. Now I have taken the pump out and tested it by disconnecting the pipe which goes to the male /female connector and the pump runs fine. Now am I right in thinking the problem is with the hose connections or is there something else I should be looking at.The machine has hardly been used so my thinking is the connections are a liitle seized?

Any help would be gratefully recieved
thanks in advance

from my experience it could be a couple of things,  maybe if its not been used much, limescale or blockage restricting the flow of water through hoses / tools and making the pump switch on and off,

possibly jets on the tools too small for the type of pump or maybe the pump needs trimming to set the psi at the right flow for the machine.

not sure what pumps are like these days as mainly use TM , but have come across this in the past and been rectified by these procedures.

The tiny screw or allen key on the front of the pump head needs adjusting,You will probably find it doesnt pulse much with the wand,Dont worry its not  faulty.

Hi,

On a flojet pump you really dont want to mess with the screw on the front of the pump. We burned a switch when i accidentally moved it while trying to disassemble the pump. By burned i actually mean smoke >> the full boonah.  Not really ideal in a clients house.

Its probably some kind of blockage in the lines, so descale it. If you have a spare female connector connect it to the solution hose and run the pump open ended for a few mins. That should clear and debris in the lines.

If you cant get it fixed easily i would by a shureflo 135psi pump. Then you can keep the flojet as a spare.
