Bogus Window Cleaner - ***Updated***
« on: June 07, 2010, 06:52:35 pm »
Just thought I'd mention my troubles with you today and make any other local window cleaners aware.

I have been informed by some of my customers and West Yorkshire Police that there is someone going round collecting money posing as myself, saying they are my son and they have taken over from me. (I'd just like to point out my son is only 8, ha ha)

Joking aside, I don't know if this guy has been watching me cleaning my round or just targeting any old house.

There has been reports of this done in Mirfield and Dewsbury.

Just be aware and let your customers know!

Thats one of the good points about using internet banking and stamoped addressed envelopes. I only take cash at the time of the clean.

Got another few calls this evening so I went out looking for him. I caught the barsteward, and put him to the floor, then restrained him until the Police came.

Turns out there is a few of them doing it, all over the country, not just West Yorks!

nice one mate, risky biz jumping on him though mate. you know how it is these days, lucky he didn't accuse you of assault!

Mind you I think you showed great restraint! I'm sure many would have been explaining to the police about how he walked into your van door, three times!  ;D ;D ;D

the effort took to follow you and make a note of your route and then go collecting.

if he owned a ladder it would be less effort to build his own round.

Have a hard job with me, most of my custies no I have no children. But you have to admit, they must have some nerve I mean they could knock on someone who is a relative or friend. Like the idea that Gassasp8 has - warning on slips.
