Anyone suffer from this W.F.P?

I seem to be getting it in the lower back at the moment.

Am I the only one?

I used to have a lot of problems with my right shoulder (left hand holds bottom of pole when cleaning and right hand up high). Also problems with the upper back (left lung area).
I put of going to a chiropractor cos I was too tight but glad I did in the end. It costs £45 a time...well, actually £30 cos I clean his £15 house before he treats me!!
I just see him every 6 months now for a service.
My wife is currently studying to become a holistic massage therapist so I kindly offer my body up for her to practice on......yeah, yeah, I know, I spoil her!!  ;D
If you suffer from backpain you should go. If not it will only get worse and probably do some permanent damage
Oh, one more thing, Its not tax deductable though which is a bummer! should be really.

Im forever grateful for the physio therapist sessions I had a couple of years ago after sustaining a back injury in a car accident. I was taught some very useful exercises to relieve tension and soreness in my back when the pain kicks in. I've found stretching over conservatories etc and awkward angles with the pole can give you soreness and tightness in the back area.
I was told the general rule to relieve back problems is "gentle movement". And by seeking the advice of a professional they will inform you of the right course of action sooner rather than later.

even at £45 dont think of it as expensive to treat it with professional help if u carry on thru the pain barrier it may result in years too come being signed off from working worse case scenario (which can lead on too a number of other things such as depression etc), think of urself as the most useful tool and piece of equipment in your business, would you think twice of spending 45quid to repair a pole or put towards a new pump.

bad backs can be a nasty thing u only have to ask the hitman on here he can only clean 4 hours a day now and is considering jacking it all in.

If all of you guys are moaning about the pain caused by the use of a WFP, think of how many claims are going to be put in from employees. How can you fight this as an employer, unless you have supplied them with the correct training and information i.e. Manual Handling.

How many people have actually had training for the use of a WFP or for instance Manual Handling?

Left shoulder pain for the same reason as Ro-Sheen. No back problems.

If you have a weakness it will expose it.

I went to the physio, got reffered from the GP so no cost. A few sessions and a look at how I was working solved the problem. Plus 3-4 weeks of not working around xmas didn't hurt.

As for employees, training is the key. Get them to sign off on training given I guess.
