If you've read some of my posts over the past three days you might know I've had a 'run' of bad customers. To be exact, it's been three.
Two of them told Wor Lass (I think because they knew I would ask questions) 'not this month' (this happened in the same area) and the other was a complete - words fail me - who made us clean 12 years of filth of their windows; then the following month attempted to change the terms and conditions of our service; in their favour.
Anyway, Wor Lass says to never take on a new customer who you have been cleaning their neighbor for a long time. They've probably seen you every month for 'X' amount of time and when they can no longer see out of their windows they call on you. Then you clean the 3 inches of filth from them, then they drop you a month or two later.
She also hates the ones that ask to do 'tops only', or those that don't directly question your price. They say stuff like, 'Remember, you can't get to the windows above the massive conservatory'.
How can you sniff out a bad customer and just say 'no thankyou; too busy'?
