my landscaping friend says he has hardly had any calls since before this election. he usually has loads of calls this time of year. he thinks its the election. im busy with regular custies like but the phone is not going as much as usual at this time of year.  mind you the weather is not warming up much. people are not yet staying out in their gardens.

I think the country has missed a trick, we need a prime minister with character, a technical understanding of how business runs and the ability to carry sound ideas through. DS for prime minister  ?????

hi there

i expect that it is more to do with attention being drawn away from one thing and focussing on another for a time, lets be honest, if you had arrived in this country last wednesday, you would have been led to believe that nothing else is happening in the UK or the world apart from the election, due to all the media coverage.

the fact is that the world will still continue to spin, there will be changes the very wealthy may get a tax break, and the very poor will get some help, but the mid bracket earners, £20k through to £100k ish, who work hard either for a company or run their own business, will be hit the hardest.

the other fact is that people and businesses will still continue to spend money, it may not be quite as much, or they might be looking for more value for money, therefore it might be a little slower, and we all might need to work a little harder and deliver a better customer service, but generally things will continue.

i personally see huge potential out there at the present time, none less really than before, the trick is to find the work.

the construction industry has re started sites that it mothballed and new sites are starting, therefore people and businesses will become more mobile once again, generating requirements for a whole range of services.

good luck to everyone

regards

martin

Good speech  :D I've changed my mind - I don't want DS as prime minister anymore
