You have just created a new load of window cleaners.

-
I think window cleaning is a mugs job. I want a proper job :-X
-
i don't earn anything and have to sign on each week
-
:-X ??? :-X ???
-
I have done on purely domestics trad one summers day a few year back £250
but that took about 9 hours
on gutters last year and windows combined with a friend did £900 in 4 hours paid him £150
not a bad day was in pub at 11.30am :)
but averages are no where near that unfortuantely
i dont think theres any reason to feel you cant share your best days etc
but i know that very few are averaging such figures daily / weekly
if you are well done
i work with a helper now and exceed my best day trad regular however i have nowhere near enough work to keep it up 5 days a week
and have lost a lot of work this week out of the blue
need to get canvassing now to catch up again
-

Well put Tosh.
Newer forum members often see at it as harmless but it does lead to negative consequences. Not least certain tabloids would love to make us the new "plumbers are on a thousand pounds a week" of this decade. You can be be tracked down from this site.
Don't say you weren't warned.
-
We generally try to discourage posting earnings on this forum for a number of good reasons, namely it just ends up getting silly. ;D
well tosh i earned what wayne rooney gets. :P :P :P
-
i think itgives an inaccurate picture of earnings in general to newbies on this site who think"wow!£150/£200 a day!5 days a week great im gonna be a window cleaner!
truth is its harder than that!it takes years to build a good round at good prices.then most will not work 5 days a week esp in winter with bad weather etc.
then theres accountant to pay/tax/ni,equipment not forgetting no sick/holiday pay.
all in all window cleaning is hard work! its the freedom/flexibility and being out of the rat race thats appeals to me!of course the moneys ok!but your never gonna be really rich doing this job.
im doing ok but i notice some of you really are struggling to make ends meet after the bad weather.
ITS NOT ALL GLAMOUR THIS GAME YOU KNOW!! ;D ;D
-
You could probably do 200 a day depending how good the work is and if you're willing to work hard
-
six quid per hour is a realistic amount to aim for. 8)

Why does it bother you? You can't blame anyone else Mick Hay apart from yourself. If i said to you wait there until the train runs you over, would you?

iys highest ever
not every day
my average is just that
average
otherwise i wouldnt still be sat here would i :)
id be spending me millions somewhere
if you believe that windys earn that just look at your local set up and what they drive where they live etc
very few make a mint most just survive
but it can be for the astute business man whose not afraid of hard work - quite lucrative
and hopefully those one off days get a bit more regular
-
£38.64 and it was hard work
-
Turnover is vanity, profit is sanity.
As that is different for every window cleaner, I wouldn't take these threads too seriously.
-
I'm normally happy with a cup of tea and some biscuits
-
Hear hear !!!!!Tim very good post.so true.
-
tax man might be reading this .

We love our jobs so much we often end up paying the client a few quid just to let us clean their windows; we're bloody made up if they let us loose on their conservatories; and a gutter clean is better than sex ( according to the wife :o ).
We don't make a lot of money but boy we're happy in our jobs ;D
-

i seem to remember mick hay bragging about charging £90-£120 for conservatories and doing 4 or 5 a day a few months back and has the cheek to use the custys outside tap!!!on fridays!!
do you think we all forgot mick? ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
ooooh, anything we can get our teeth into eh!!
my apologies for giving advice etc in previous posts, but as from now i will refrain from doing so!
But for those who came out with me for a day, glad to see your still going strong ;) ;) ;)

Broke my personal daily turnover record today by £93. Was out 11,5 hours, total break time was 45min or so. £496. Really shattered. Just residential properties ranging from £10 to £129. Usual relatively busy day is around £250 I guess. But don't have full books. Couldn't work Monday (personal) and Tuesday was terrible weather. So really should be much less on average, obviously.
( Ignore my previous post ;D )

Nice going
thats for one man right?
-
I can get as much as £35 on a good day, but after a gruelling 50 mins of sweat and toil I need to have a cuppa and a lie down.
-
About £26 is the most I have managed, it was a hard day but worth the effort

Yes that's just me. I think this sort of day only happens once or twice a year really. :)
-
I think I managed it 3 times one day. She needed a lie down after. :o
-
Averaging pretty similar to my trad earnings but only second time round after changing over to wfp, 2 man team bit depressing as i now have massive debt to pay, any tips on speeding up?
-
Yeah, just keep at it Bridger. You will naturally speed up. Keep a time on each job, don't rule out trad if your quick. I do pretty much 50/50.
Just reading an old thread, how did you get on with the Ionics battery issue? Never forget the demo they gave me, I have never seen such a mess. Runs like I've never seen before or since. I'm sure it was the operator rather than the system for what its worth.
-
Does the Inland Revenue read threads on this forum - just a thought ;D

;D I think it doesn't really matter John. I've always run a straight business and assume that everyone else on here does too.
