Title: PPM/ TDS reading/resin/filters
Post by: djhaydn on November 26, 2009, 12:32:12 pm
Hi Guys. long time no speak, i have been back regulary to see whats been going on.
i have a problem and think i know what it is, but need a second opinion.

i have just changed my pre filters and flushed them well, also i have purchased some new resin from Hugh Crane, acle , norwich.

when i tested the ppm on new filters i had a reading of 42 on tds meter (water very hard here), connected the DI vessel and my reading was 000,
250 liters later the reading was 29, so i promptly rang Hugh crane and explained, but just to make sure it wasnt a blip, i changed the resin again and set running, and sure enough at 300 liters later the reading was creeping up again. the reading from filters is still 42.

before i really do go gobbing it off, am i right in saying that the resin is no good and is virtually spent before use?

the resin i had before off them (a differnt make) was really good and made 750 liters without ppm hardly rising.

cheers guys
Haydn

what ro are you using, cos 42 is really bad after a ro and what size di vessel are you using. also do you know what the reading after the ro was before you changed the pre filters ??
