Title: Paypal Question
Post by: Blue Frog Systems on November 24, 2009, 08:39:02 pm
Am thinking of adding paypal as a payment option once i have my website set up

Now ive used paypal for years and know once you get to £1500 deposited into your account in a single year that they take it as illegal money transfer and you have to register as a business (hence having 4 paypal accounts)

How do i go to register for a business account ?
How  much do they charge me ?

Im lazy and thought someone could tell me rather than me searching for a few hours :)

Tanks

after we added paypal and reached this threshold, the instructions of how to progress were on the paypal screen to follow step by step.

Log into your Paypal account and click on "profile" and then on "personal/business information", scroll down to "EDIT" and click on it. You can then change all your details.
Paypal will probably contact you for further information.
The costs are explained in their help pages.

How much do they charge you for receiving money?
they charge me a percentage of the money coming in.

Matt

they charge a base 20p / transaction + 3.4% of the transfer.
so, £10 in, they take 54p
£20 they take 88p

I have some that pay with Paypal, it costs a bit more but like Matt its money that I spend on ebay and therefore feel no guilt for spending it.
