Title: UNUSAL PAYMENT
Post by: gwrightson on October 22, 2009, 09:16:15 pm

Did a job today for an asian lady, turns out she has a dental practice, On hearing this I mwntioned i could do with some treatment and ought to make an appointment with my dentist, any way job completed  worth £140

YES ,you guessed it ,she offered treatment for payment ,after a little disscussion I couldnt refuse, got to ring tommorow to make some appointments .
what swayed it was, quite an attractive young lady and i would rather have her working on my teeth than the last one I had.

cant wait, any body else had unusual payments

I wouldn't fancy being a dentist - I've heard it's like pulling teeth  :'(

Every cloud has a silver lining!

I had to go on a speed awareness course some time ago. Costs about £60 for the day but if you pass you don't get any points on your license or have to pay a penalty.

I met a guy on the course and it turns out out he banks with Coutts (where the Queen banks). You've got to be fairly seriously loaded to bank there. But I only found that out when he was writing his cheque for the cleaning I had undertaken which amounted to several hundred pounds.

I've just got one last month, carpets in a sports complex, payment was agreed at a years membership for my wife and I and free entry to the pool for my daughter.

Got it on an annual clean, took two of us two hours to do with the Prowler.  ;D

Dr Carpet
I also went on the speed awareness course.
£60 and no points on your licence, or if you don't want to go on it £90
and 3 points.
Thought it was a no brainer and went for the course.
Not realising that it's not just £60 but also a days work lost.
And it was a waste of time.

John ???

Cant see how it can be a waste of time John.
You will always have it in your mind (at least for the next 3 years I think it is) that next time it WILL be £90 and 3 points on the licence.

Exactly.

And the 3 points not on the license are worth more than a day of anyone's money.

Lucky for you guys that you have such schemes in your county. I dont  :(

Joe dont think they do it here in cheshire as i picked up some points on the bike and not even a choice as given to me ::)

Prob just it was a bike i was on   and not in my car or van..

I think it depends on what speed you were doing as to whether you get the choice of points or awareness day.
I think if you doing 37 in a 30 you get the choice, if you doing 38+ you get the points.
On that basis I think if you doing if you 100 on the Motorway you in for the points - see what I mean Valentino Neylan  ;D.

My favourite 'payment' was when I did a h/s/l for a blonde Pamela Anderson look-alike. She asked that instead of payment she would take me to bed along with her twin sister but only if I Stainguard as well. What a cheek! Some people really know how to take advantage of us poor carpet cleaners!!

Hi Guys,

Recently did a job at a pig farm, said 60 min, she said they only paid 50 last time, after a bit of banter we agreed 50 plus some sauasages.

Giggly Pig, very nice too.

Cheers

Clinton

Done doing 36 going north up Wellington rd past Debenhams in Stockport as I passed the George pub.

It's downhill, steep slope and amazingly there was no traffic. Quite easy to build up speed.

Incidentally, you only get the choice of the course once you have graduated further than an initial 3 points.

This would have taken me upto 9 :'( :'(

So I remained on 6. Now all fully expired. I'm a very good boy these days. ;)

I did a large CCTV and alarm fit out for an elderly couple. He bought himself an old Dennis fire engine back in 1983 which required a full overhaul including restoration of panelling. He explained that he never got to touch the engine due to family issues.
I completed job in exchange for this old wreck. Finished the restoration back in 2004 and got her back to her original condition.
She is a Dennis F131.

Very nice Matt.

I bid for a fire engine once on Ebay.
It had a reserve on it and I knew I would be well below the reserve so I bid.
Then I called the wife to show her what I had bid on and what did she think of it.
World war 3 broke out.  ;D ;D
