I am in the latter stages of starting an internet based trades directory. This is gonna be a great way to get out there as it will be advertised as to keep away the cowboys.I will be doing the sheffield/rotherham/doncaster/worksop and surrounding areas to start with. if you work in these areas please call me for more information on 079855701855. I am sure this is going to be a great way to advertise so call me and get involved whilst the list is only in its early stages.

They dont have recommended vetted monitored etc trades. That is the reason for this site. You can check the persons feedback before asking round to quote.

I was considering inventing a round thing that you could put on vehicles to make them roll along the ground ::)
Good luck :)

Me thinks you may be abut 20 years too late ;)

Nothing around my area doing this way of advertising. Yeah yellow pages etc but any clown can advertise in those. Seem to recall folk on here paying over 2k ???to join. This will get my members lots more work than any other advertising.

I don't think it's that stupid IF he can get it in a top position on Google, especially above your websites ;D

Dont need to many members to make this work. For less than £1 a day and into over 200,000 households, now thats sounds like a good deal to me. Lets just see ey. I will update as and when to keep the sceptics informed.

How do you propose to guarantee getting it into 200 000 households?

The first thing a business cuts back on in a recession is marketting......

Marketing 101
You should increase your marketing in a recession

Recession or not if you find something that turns £100 into £500 you are going to keep on doing it aren't you?
If you are a muppet and spend a couple of grand on a promise from an advertising sales person then maybe it's time to go back on PAYE.

beer mats, its the future ;D

You're right Steve, you "Should", but what if you "Can't"? I'm not suggesting that you should in any way "Not" continue to market your business the best that you can, but apparantly when businesses are finding it difficult, they cut back on advertising and find cheaper alternatives! I seen it on Newsnight I think!!!
Personally, I am doing better than I ever thought I would and I am looking at putting my money into a good website and a blimp! Well, maybe not a blimp, but it'd work better than anything Yell or similar can pull out of a hat ;D ;D ;D!!!!!
I'm talking about marketing Colin - NOT advertising, my advertising amounts to £90 a month for a local colour mag.
You should never stop marketing - in good times or bad
