Post by: ben jepson on August 10, 2009, 10:02:55 am: hello my name is ben and im living in preston im thinking about setting up at window cleaning now i have read quite alot on the web,
but have you guys got any tips on how to start
best place to perchace the equipment
mainly a decent pair of ladders

any help would be greatly appriciated

Tip for gathering customers....

Knock the doors is the best I have found. Just ask them if they need a window cleaner. If they don't, kindly ask them if they will take one of your leaflets if they know anyone who does need one.

Drop leaflets in the houses that no one is home.

Get a leaflet up in local shop windows. Its cheaper than chips at 25p a week here. I've had one in my local shop now for a couple of months and only paid for 4 weeks advertising :P

i had a guy on one of my streets who has picked up one of my dumped customers ( bad payer) if he'd come over and said hello he could of had some more i had just dumped

Post by: tony talbot on August 10, 2009, 08:31:28 pm: greetings. i would advise starting small learn your trade then expand as you go, i started a couple of years ago, doing trad, but soon found you were limited on the houses you could aproach.i then bought a wfp system with my trad earnings, to reach awkward windows. now i,m 90% wfp and 10% trad. best of luck with your buisness ;D
