Are there any centres that do certificated ladder training in south wales or the west country?
thanks :D

i charge a flat rate of a tenner for ladder training.... it goes like this
1, put the ladder up to desired height
2, start with your left leg on the bottom rung
3, now move your legs in an alternate motion (thus causing you to ascend)
4, when at desired height ... STOP
DESCENDING THE LADDER
1.... JUMP, making sure you do a roll when you hit the floor
2, stand up and brush the mud off your knees
NOW PICK UP THE LADDER AND MOVE IT TO THE NEXT DESIRED POINT, AND REPEAT THE PROCESS

Far too far to go
thanks thou.
I found the Ladder Association are doing certificated courses, with a directory of training sites around the uk - one just 15 mins from me :D
My last ladder course was over 5 years ago, so it needs updating for my portfolio.

p...ing myself laughing bryan..........if you pass you get a certificate ;D
so now we all know.... do the course and get the certificate, put it in your pocket whilst working, and when you fall and land on your a**e it wont hurt because youve got a piece of paper in your back pocket ..... come on lad GET REAL!
courses and certificates were thought up by large companies to protect themselves, should one of their staff receive an injury, then they can turn their back and say..... oh well he has been on a training course and passed, therefor the injury must be due to his own negligence. no lawsuits, no compensation, and no ties to the poor ba***rd who's just broke his neck.

Exactly the same reason why i need it.
Companies im tending for require them.
Give it 10 years every commercial job will require them, H&S is going to get very tight.
I only walked into a TNT distribution centre the other day i needed to read the emergency procedure before i could continue. I also noted ANY contractor was also required to provide RA/MS and training certs to do ANY work on their site.
OK, so using a ladder is not that difficult, but im a contractor, and the companies that use me are required by law to ensure im trained for the job required, just as they would be required to train their own staff.
In a court of law, experience will count for nothing - paper talks!

i think the course is £200 ish ::)

I feel this way too, and i wish this govt would let grown ups use there common sense, HOWEVER common sense isnt common and what gwcs said about having it for portfolio is very true, its better to have it for where its needed than not too !! Thats common sense too :)
