I get up at about 8.15 and am on the road by 9.15 to be at the first job by 9.30 to 9.45.
We finish normally around the 4 to 5pm mark.
I try to be in bed about 11'ish but like tonight it's later and sometimes it's around 1am.
I am horrified at the times that have been posted for getting up like 5.30am and I cannot see myself starting doing windows on resindentual properties at 8am or the like.
All I want when I get up is 30 minutes peace and quiet and my cup of tea.

Ross,
I am with you dude. 7:30 or 8:00 is a good time for me; altho some people like to be on the job by 7 or 8.
Some of us are night owls and some are early birds. :o
I alway's tell my appointments 10 :00. If I have scheduled workers to be on a job with me I tell them to go ahead if they wish; don't want to hold up progress.
There was a time when I arose at 5:30 because I had to. It has been my fantasy to awake at 7 or later. 8)
So now I sleep later because I can!
That is the great thing about being self employed; you choose your schedule.
Isn't it wonderful? :o
Have a great week! ;D
Hugs,
Texas Girl :-* :-*

Three day a week I am up just after 5am, then into work for around the 6.30am mark, shops and so on.
If it is a residential day I look to start between 9 and 10am, getting up about an hour & a half before I need to start.
Finish times are all over the place, sometimes it is after 5pm, other times it can be by 2.30pm :-\

Get up 6am, showered, dressed, walk dog, breakfast etc. First appointment normally 9am after I've taken my daughter to school or to her Grandma's during the holiday.
Got a new prospective window cleaner starting with me today so we'll see how he gets on, had him round yesterday practicing on my windows (kept the missus happy, they never get done otherwise)
Finish normally 4pm - 5pm (ish)
Although it all depends on whether I am cleaning windows or doing carpets, I've not touched the windows for a while as have been busy on carpet cleaning, but this week I am doing 2 days on windows, today and Thursday.
The lads who work for me are normally on the road by 8am ready for 8:30 start

My motto generally is "early in the day, early in the week, early in the month"
But occasionally the spirit is willing and the flesh is weak and I start at 10 o'clock after a lie in.

off over to PO Box, collect cheques
Do you have a PO Box for privacy reasons? Is it expensive to operate and how do you access it?
-

Domestic i leave about 8 ish
allways try to work till 5 as i only work 3 days a week

Usually up at 6.00am, chat to my girlfriend in Texas till 7:00am on msn, kids up, sort them out take them to school and start work at 9:30, home for a cup of tea at 11, then work til 2:30 before collecting them from school at 3:15. Single parenthood with 3 under 8 restricts my working day somewhat!
I can only be a part timer for now.

A PO Box costs £45 for 6 months.....I use it partly for privacy reasons (don't want all the neighbours knowing my business, etc)... but originally it was because I lived at that time in my static caravan...no post box, no phone...miles from anywhere, next to a river...ahhh..the peace and quiet...so, of course, I needed a business address....I just kept it on out of habit really....

My motto generally is "early in the day, early in the week, early in the month"
Followed that motto myself for 7 years. (Some people on here will know what I'm talking about).
My motto now is 8 till 5 :(
Ah.... Happy Days!
Maybe I'll go back to my old motto. Have been thinking about it for some time.
