It looks the part but I have no idea if it suitable for windows . Any takers?

Most pumps 60-65 psi pump at 5-6ltrs per minute. So would not the pump be straved of water at some stage?
-
I've ordered 1 from gaps water, should arrive wednsday. I'll let u know what its like.
-
Does it have post RO DI filter? Also, it needs 40 psi+ supply. I had a problem with my water supply because it is only 30 psi. This will mean that you'll burn through resin.
We ended up getting a pump assisted system.
-
I've ordered a pump, already have 2 di vessels.
-
Our pump assisted system has been really good. I have been using it for 9 months and still not changed the 20" DI filter!
P.S. we use approx 3500 lt per week.

Did you get your Merlin RO unit, whats it like and what did it cost you?
-
Hi,
See the copy below of our post on 28 March on the Merlin. It suffers a problem, which we have overcome with our Wizard, of sending to waste over three times the water it produces, and offers only 93% average rejection of impurities. The Wizard also comes with an in-line dual TDS meter.
The Merlin is stated by its manufacturer GE to be designed with TDS rejection between 90 and 95%, with a quoted average of 93%. Interestingly, it’s also designed with a small optional extra “flush tank” (Part no. 1261345), and already has a Speedfit connection in the manifold to accept this flush tank. The purpose of the flush tank is to eliminate the problem that commonly occurs in a stop-start situation where the first water produced by an RO after a stoppage has much higher TDS than after it has settled down and been running for a few minutes (often referred to on this forum). This flush tank should greatly improve the 40ppm TDS that is currently being obtained in sham33’s situation. I don’t think that the extra prefilter mentioned will improve the TDS, although it should cerainly extend membrane life.
On test in early February, with our modification to the Merlin, we produced 2138 L/day at 19ppm TDS, from Southport tap water at 280ppm TDS, at 11 degrees C, and a pressure of 53psi (3.5 bar). Our waste : product ratio was 1 : 1, far better than the unmodified Merlin, at 3.25 : 1, and this may be an important consideration if your tap water is metered.

andrew, the ratio of 1 - 1 interests me, as im in a new house that has a water meter :(
how much do you sell your unit for ?? ?? ?? price inc vat and postage to my door in the UK
cheers

Andrew how did u tweak your system to perform better than the rivals? Is it a simple proceedure? I dont mean the extra flush tank.
Im sending the 2 ro membranes back Monday for testing, hope it helps.

Hi Matt & sham33,
If I posted our price on here, the powers-that-be would edit it out. Please refer to our website at http://www.andwat.co.uk/acatalog/Reverse_osmosis_units.html for details. Carriage is £18, and VAT is chargeable on the lot.
As to how we "tweak" the Merlin to improve the Wizard's product:waste ratio, that's what makes our machine so much better value than anybody else's, together with the included waterproof in-line dual TDS meter. We're surely entitled to charge a little for the know-how gained over many years' practical experience of RO. It's not just kicking it - the secret is knowing where to kick it !
Yours, Andrew

Andrew, thanks, i belive you can post prices here (or has it changed)
anyways, i have seen the price, i might have to save a few quid B4 i buy ;)
it does look top stuff mind you, a 1 - 1 ratio is what its all about, mine at present has about 1 - 4 :(, i guess you get what you pay for
cheers

me again,
its a shame they dont do a smaller unit (thus saving me a few quid) as i couldnt use 720 Galls in 1 month lol (currently using 100 - 150 L a day, working 3 days a week, i think my sums are correct, my daughter is distracting me a little ;))
its not the size i want, its the ratio
-
Someone explain the ratio to me?
-
1 L of PURE WATER - 3 L WASTE WATER
so 1 - 1 will produce 1 L of Pure for 1 of WASTE
thus keeping water waste down, thus keeping Bills down if on a meter
