Title: What to say when canvassing?

Hello All,

When you do house to house canvassing what do you find best to say to the householder?

"Do you need a Window Cleaner?"

"We are expanding our businesses into this area, would you like us to clean your windows?"

Or something along these lines..?

Any help much appreciated.

When i used to go out canvassing i just used to say that we are expanding in the local area and would they like a window cleaner and from that it would be a yes or no and i could move quickly from one to the next. ;)

Steve you hit the nail on the head. When I first went out canvassing I asked the same as you and I think that by sying "expanding" and not saying "i am starting" makes a lot of difference. I think they take you more seriously.
