Ive bought a 6 mm microbore hose and i have 2 pumps set up on my van ,1st pump has varistream 2nd
pump has nothing.I cant seem to get enough pressure to get a decent flow through either poles.
But if i use 1/2 inch hose everything works fine, does anybody else have these problems with microbore

get a bypass , put one on one of them and give it a go ,iv bined vf , tryed with out , it wosent till i used by pass that it saved the trubulls , iv got two pumps 1 /4L the uther nearly 6L , both on 6mm pipe

Not quite sure what a bypass is

Bypasses are usually fitted because the pumps can pump out more water that required,so a tap is fitted with 2 outlets 1 that allows water back into the tank and 1 to your hose,
by putting just a tap on your hose and slowing down the flow rate this way my end up burning your pump out because the pump is set to a certain flow rate (litres per minute) and it needs to run like this if running for a certain length of time,
well that`s my theory anyway (i may be wrong) :P

I had problems with microbore where you can't get a good enough flow.
Changed to minibore 8mm and the problem was solved perfect flow.
There has been quite a few on here with problems with microbore and have changed to minibore

no not back to tank you put it in the outlet of pump with pipe back to frunt of pump and tap gos in that pipe , so t pece 4 " after pump anuther one befor pump conet it up and put tap inbetwin ,

Shureflow pumps are rubbish with microbore but adequate with minibore
Flojet pumps are much better with microbore and even better with minibore
Ditch Shureflow for Flojet and all your pump water flow problems will disappear

Wayne, you probably mean "Shurflo" (easy mistake) ;D
well i`ve been using same Shurflo for over 3 years with 6mm microbore and no robs at all so not all bad then ;)

'robs' (probs) easy mistake, no worries.
I've used both shurflo and Flojet many times and find I have less hassle using Flojet , especially if using a varistream with microbore hose. I've had Shurflo pumps last 2 years and others 6 months. With shurflo pumps I find they keep sticking after continuous use. With varistreams they are erratic after short or long bursts of use, They never remain constant.

Perhaps then i got the best pump they ever produced ;D ;D

The smaller the diameter of the hose, the greater is the pump pressure required.
Also, the longer the length of hose, the greater is the pump pressure required.
It could be that your pump pressure is too low for the diameter/length of hose, or that you have too long a length of hose for a 60psi Shurflo pump.
I have a 100psi Shurflo pump pushing water though 2 Di bottles and then 50 metres of 5 mm pole hose and it works OK. When I tried it with 80 metres of 5 mm pole hose, the internal resistance of the hose caused the pump pressure switch to kick in and the pump stopped working. I assume that, in my set up, at hose lengths between 50 and 80 metres, the water flow rate at the brush head would get progressively less and less as resistance increased, until it eventually stopped.
Also, Shurflo make lots of pumps – with different flow rates for the same pressure rating (and different pressure ratings for the same flow rate).
Look up ‘Williamson pumps’ on Google and then speak to someone from the company.

60 psi surflo and oldstyle analogue vari with 100mtrs microbore
works fine after 18 months
flow rate is fine
flojets ??? ???
mine lasted less than 2 wks
each to their own :)

That's why you're not getting any water. The Shurflo 60psi is really the weakling in the pump world. You need either a 100psi Shurflo or ideally a 60psi Flojet (for one reel of 100 metre microbore) or a 100psi Flojet for up to two x 100 metres microbore.
