Hi all
How do you go about this,I cleaned the windows on a house that has been up for sale for a few months now.no body was in while i cleaned them.Went on to clean next door had a cuppa with the customer,he told me that next door have now sold and moved on.How do i approach the new people who i have already cleaned thier windows?Any advice would be gratefull only been in this business since Feb 2008 .

This has happened to me.
At the end of the day the new owners have not booked you in so they do not owe you money.
Best to knock on their door and tell them that you used to clean the windows for the previous owner for £??? on a ??weekly basis and would they like you to continue the service.

You could see the new customer if they left a forwarding address. People often leave this info incase any mail gets sent to there old address. Then just send the customer who moved away the bill. They booked you and forgot to cancel so the bill is theres, but personally I doubt you will get the moey off them.
But on a possitive side, you might end up getting the new tenant and the old tenant at there new address if you get in touch with them, so might be worth while.

Put it down to a loss and tell the new people they have had a free clean do they want you to continue. Even if they say no keep the offer open.

This happened to me once and i said that unless they paid for the clean when they had already moved in i wouldn`t carry on,to be honest if they don`t pay you there taking the P*** especially if they then choose to keep you on in the future.Sometimes you just have to stand your ground,it will serve you well in the long run with these types.

this happened to me last month cleaned first time it was rotten,cleaned again then found out he had moved,spoke to next door,and she paid for him ???

They didnt ask him to clean them. It isnt their fault.
If you came home one day and someone had built a shed at the end of your garden without you asking them to and then charged you for it whos taking the p*** ?

Find the forwarding address of the previous customer as it is their responsibility for not having cancelled you. It is nothing to do with the new clients and if you want to keep the house on, starting off by demanding money they do not owe is not such a good idea. We have found that 9 times out of 10 the new owner continues with the service. We do always take the opportunity of having a price review.

Exactly. Just give it to them a a freebie, and a good will gesture. And use the opportunity to make a new customer, and increase it a bit as people have said. You will make the money you lost out, and if your lucky you will catch up with the one that owes you.

I agree, just introduce yourself and tell them you cleaned their windows for free.
