Hi all :)
I'm in the process of setting up my van for work, and have hit a problem. On my last van I just hijacked the cigarette lighter live and fed it through to the back of the van.... and when that stopped working, I drilled through the bulkhead and fed straight into the battery...
...thing is this time, my cigarette lighter is an ignition live, and I can't seem to find any more! Don't want to start drilling through the bulkhead really...
So, I assume the best solution would be to buy a leisure battery and charger, and charge the battery every night. Where is the best place to buy a leisure battery and charger on the high street? Can't seem to find any in the usual places!
Don't mind paying a bit extra, I need to be on the road and working by Wednesday! :-\

Thanks :)
Is the 110Ah the best to get? What charger do you have?
-
Yes 110ah, 75ah is a toy.
Any good inteligent charger £40 ish halfords etc.
I had an auto electrician fit a split relay, but so long as you charge regularly this should be fine.
-
ive got a 85ah leisure battery and the c-tec intelligent charger, about £50 odd each, cant remember exactly
-
Cheers guys. Would the 110aH need charging every day? Only going to charge it as a stop gap until I can get a split relay installed.

Save yourself any future problems and charge on a regular bassis.

camping and caravan sites stock them usually

Do you guys all get along OK with a leisure battery? I'm so used to a permanent connection to the van supply, not sure if its going to be reliable enough? Guess as long as its charged OK...
Thanks for the advice :)

it should last a few days i think before i had my split charge relay fitted it was about four days

decent camping/caravan shop will supply leisure battery
my last 110amph was about £80
they have all gone up recently.
Got an Intelligent charger from cleaningspot
they sell them on ebay £40 delivered.
Would not bother with split relay unless you
are doing lots of miles to give it a chance to boost battery.
Charge mine up every 2-3 days no problems at all.

-
Ritey-o, thanks for all the replies :)
I've ordered one of Tayna's 110ah Numax batteries... should be here soon :) Just wondering, will I just be able to use a standard car battery charger for them for now, or will these not provide enough juice?

split charge relays do not work unless you do loads of miles
