Doesn't that really annoy you? And everyone that says that to you seems to think they are so witty too >:(
And do you know, I can never think of a witty rejoinder to use without sounding rude, ignorant or miserable :-\
The same as, "You're going to make it rain now." >:( that one really annoys me too.
I have WFP now, so when they say that I tell them, "It's ok, I supply my own."
It usually confuses them enough to make me happy anyway ;)
I also like it when they come up and tell me they would like one of those to clean their own windows with, they always give a double blink and have a shocked look on their faces when you tell them it'll cost them a couple of grand to get one ;D
But back to "You've missed a bit".
My only feeble comeback is to look at them with a completely blank expression and either ask them where? or tell them "No, I haven't"
Then when they try to say it was a joke, you say "Ahh, a joke."
You pause for second or two and give a little false laugh without changing your blank expression and continue with your work.
It might make them feel a bit of a berk, but at least they may not say it to another window cleaner 8) You just know they are wandering off muttering "Miserable b*@t$*d." :-X
But as I said at the beggining of this reply, you try and be witty back and you just end out sounding rude, ignorant or miserable :'(
Sigh :-\

I tell them the corners are extras

"You've missed a bit"
Of course - that's so she knows I've been! I leave a mark in a different place every month, you know.
"You're going to make it rain now."
Definitely! It's a talent, missus. Some window cleaners can't manage it, but we've got it down to a fine art.
Oh, the laughs I've had . . .

I often say, while looking at the inside, and with a smile....'So have you'....

Corners:
"I used to be a sailor and am used to cleaning portholes"
You missed a bit:
"No I missed two bits"
I also had "How do you clean automatic doors (shops) I was a bit slow first time but now its
"I hold the squeegee and wait for the door to go back and forth"
