Title: Cold Weather and TDS Readings HELP Needed
Post by: williamx on December 21, 2004, 06:02:39 pm
Today I filled up the 25l water containers that I use on my round and which I store in my van with water that went through a DI tank, which is also stored in my van.

When I fill up I always take a TDS reading on the first container and the last one to make certain that the readings are at 000.

The first reading was 000 and the end reading was at 12 to 14 which was strange as the resin is fairly new and I have only cleaned about 500 litres of water with it, anyway I went back though the containers to find out which ones were showing TDS readings above 000 and this is were I am puzzled because some of the containers are showing readings of 25 while others are showing readings of 000 and some others are showing other reading ranging from 10 to 37.

Has any one experenced this problem and if so whats the cure.

If the water is ok in the tank and goes throught the resin into the barrels and they then give off different readings then it Sounds like some of your containers have become comtamianated ( spelling )

Flush them out.

do you R/O your water first before DI? How old is your TDS?Is your resin Virgin?
Was it old sack resin you had stored for a while?Have you noticed a change in the water quality where you fill up from?

Justin

I thought that it might be the containers but I have also tried brand new ones and still get various readings?

Sair

I am in a soft water area so don't have to R/O it first.

The Tds meter is less than 6 months old.

The resin was stored for about 6-8 weeks.

The water quality has not changed
