Got dragged around the shops today :(
However i was in a largish store that had the filthiest windows i've ever seen in my life! I had a quick look and they could be done fairly easily with my kit. Trouble is i would need to stand in the road to do them (if i got the job). Are there any specific requirements to do this? Special signs or permission - is it worth clearing it with the local police? I could do it out of peak times.

If I have to stand on a busy road, I try to do the job early on a Sunday if at all possible. Otherwise I have parked my vanup before now and worked behind it for protection.

very early mornings or non busy days, you could lay some cones out to drive around if theres room if its a two way road.

would you need some sort of permission if you are standing in a public road working for any length of time?

It's a one way street in the middle of town. I've never done shops or town work before so am unsure about it.

you have to contact the council, it takes time is a pain in the backside and they dont always say yes and if they do it costs.

I generally do this sort of work early morning. ie 5-6 AM using warning cones and hi-vis jacket.
You will be amazed at how many dick-head drivers will not drive round you though and expect you to move. I'm talking two lane one way street.
