Speaking to Mossy yesterday who was raving about u/m anyone else use it? Is it better than formula 90?
Liquid or powder?
Not that I'm doubting Mossy ;)
-
I used to use the powder in porties, now use the liquid in truckmount. It is superb never needed to use anything else.
Definately reccomended :)

Dont think the liquid tm version is self neutralising, doesnt seem to say on web site. I use liquid High Heat with the Prowler when I need to use a rinse and it seems ok. Very economical in use and on the acid side. Might try some UM for comparison.
Steve I think I remember you saying that you used liquid High Heat, have you gone off it.?

Ive used powder for years.
Never felt the urge to convert to Microsplitters etc
Did the job never caused problems etc.
What I am not happy about Alltec have put their Carriage Free Minimum order up to £250
Which is higher than a lot of suppliers
But you can get a discount if you pay straight away so it often balances out .
Cleansmart supplies sells the powder and last time I looked their carriage free amount was lower and the carriage charge is £5 otherwise

Have also used it on trashed end of tenancy jobs ........ it is from Alltec Healthy Home range ;)

When you use ultimate master in your porti rinse tank what is the ph and what prespray do you use first.

Tony, I use it on most things these days and find the results great.
The ph is 9.5 but dries neutral ( dont they all) .
I use it as a prespray at 100 - 1 and usually aggitate with an envirodri before extracting with plain water.
If I need an extra boost I then use it in the chemical feed or if your a porty user then mix it in your clean tank at around 200-1.

Use U/M on alot of my jobs. Find I get excellent results when using on rugs, pre-sprayed on, aggitated via bonnet the extracted with clear water rinse.

I was a big user of Ultimate Master at one time and no question about it an excellent cleaning powder. However since changing over to rinsing with plain water I now seldom have to replace pumps or repair burst solution hoses or replace seals or brass fittings whereas these things were a regular occurrance at one time.
-
Fintan, thats why I mainly use it as a prespray and rinse with water only.
It is the same with any chemical if it is constantly going through pipes and pumps as they all will wear them down a quicker.
If you do use any chemical in the fresh tank for extraction rinsing then it is always wise to rinse the system through at the end of the days work with clean water to help longevity ;)

Interesting to find these comments, a bit like going full circle, having used U/M and M/S for about 10 years.
The original U/M was a bit abrasive and wore out jets, but was modified, another point worth noting, is that U/M was a Woolsafe product and obviously is still a Safe on Wool product, the only difference being, the W/S organisation charge ludicrously high fees to stay on their list and the Saunders bros' decided the fees were unjustifiably high,

I take it you all use the liquid ultimate master not the powder i am a porti user can i use the liquid. I know i can as a prespray but what about in the solution tank or is it just for t/m's.

Tony you can use liquid or powder as I find them both good, however I feel that powdered products can cause problems with pumps/equipment if not fully desolved, so I prefere to use liquid.
-
Just got some today will give it a try tomorrow.
-
I dont use it very often now, but i found it was quite good on Both Synthetic and Wool, i tend to use seperate products for each now, but in my eyes UM is a good all rounder.

If you use an acidic rinse such as Fabric and fibre through your machine ,it helps prevent limescale build up,

Got some UM powder (freebie along time ago) used on black top this year (pre spray) as good a Blitz.
