Title: submersible pump

Hi,

Will using a submersible pump from container in garage to tank in van contaminate the water?   and what about the inner of the hose pipe as it travels through it... i have an inline tds in the ro system, but not one to dip in the tank in the van., so any help would be apreciated.

I think once the water is pure it will stay that way for a long while

I haven't found it causes any problems. mine stays in my tank all the time.

As long as you got the one end in the IBC and some sort of valve on the other you should be fine.
And get a handheld TDS meter, they are more accurate ;)

john i didnt understad your reply....  a submersible in the tank in garage...... a hose.. straight into van tank.... whats the end in ibc and valve mean? ;)

I got a 1000ltr IBC tank in garage with sub pump permanently in it, 15m of hose from it with a lever valve on the end to feed my van tank.
When transfering the water to van I switch on Sub pump and open lever valve to start flow, when it's full I shut off valve and turn off sub pump so in theory the water between the lever valve back to the IBC is trapped  and still pure as nothing can get in.

You may find if you use a standard jubille clip to fasten your hose to the pump that the clip will start to rust over a period of time their by contaminateing your water.

Most jubille clips are only galvanised, but you can get the jubille clips in stainless steel, which are a lot better at rtesisting rust.

I dont need a sub-pump as I have elevated my IBC, then connected a 1" Hose the the Outlet, gravity does the rest. Cheap, easy and no contimination.

I was thinking of getting 1000ltr tank but i can only store it outside, would this be ok?
 how would you set it up i presume i would just need to drill holes in the top side for the filling and emptying? any one got a diagram how thiers ias set up.

drill a hole in the lid large enough to push the product pipe from your ro into.

try to cover the tank as much as possible as over time the sunlight will cause algae to grow in the tank.
