It's called business.
We all want the best return when selling our goods and services, be it our van, equipment, wife ;) or cleaning services. Then we would also like to pay the minimum possible for the same when purchasing.
It's what makes the world go round. Don't moan, just get on with it. If you like what you see, barter. If you don't like it, walk. The seller can always reduce his/her price, but it's very difficult to increase it.
Safe and happy bartering :)

Exactly like selling secondhand cars.
Something is only worth what a buyer will pay for it. maybe you or I wouldn't pay a grand for a secondhand machine but some people do.

Great post, how streetwise are you gettin ;D ;D
And what a businessman to boot ;)

Problem with secondhand gear is you will need to replace Motors etc so you need to yake that into account.
Hopefull you will get more than 45mins out of them.

market demand will always set the price. low demand low price, high demand high price.

a lot more second hand cars out there compared to carpet cleaning machines :)
Look what happens when a toy manufacturer only produces 1000 items of a particularly popular product at Christmas...there are queues for miles at silly o`clock in the morning and then they change hands on Ebay for many, many times their RRP...

TIP OF THE DAY

No pictures I'm afraid, as offensive images will be removed by the moderators.
As for hours, she has 20 years of marriage on the clock (20 good years I would add!).
