I have today got my first regular commercial window cleaning job!! It will take me 30 minutes and I have charged £50.00. They want the clean done monthly and the insides are to be done as well only on a quaterly basis for which I will be charging £80.00.
How does this deal sound to you people and what is the best way to get commercial work.
By the way the job came about from a lady whos house I clean and she reccommended me to the company of which she works for so today I went in and gave a price and got the job.
Cheers and thanks in advance,
Craig Wrighty Wright

Hello Craig,
How does this deal sound to you people
That sounds like a good commercial rate. Make sure you keep the standard high and they will keep you forever.

PS The reason for lack of response might be because "what is the best way to get commercial work" is rather a broad question. There have been several very good topics on that very subject already, use the "search" function to find them.

wish i could get £50 for 30 minutes work.theres only one way to get commercial work and thats go knocking on doors

Or from Yellow Pages and the Fed Ad.
I've just quoted £20 +vat for five ordinary sash & case windows in and out in a small office - 15 minutes maximum, and a few doors up from another couple of office we already do. I didn't ask if they got others to quote, so don't know if I was the best price, or if they just went on personality and get-on-ability ::)
They seemed delighted by the first clean though. Just have to wait and see if they're good payers!
When I first started on these boards, I was astounded by what some folk were charging and I thought "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!" Thanks guys!

fifty bucks for one hour is good so for thirty minutes, i'll hire you to come price jobs for me.

well done, way to go ! We have a local 3 storey pub that's cleaned with a pole...ok, there's quite a few windows, but it takes about 2.5 hours and is worth £300. Could do with a few more of them.....
