Hi guys,
I stupidly didn't mask off my windows when spraying water seal and they were covered in the stuff. Thompsons suggested white spirit and elbow grease but this proved really difficult and time consuming so I gave up and resigned myself to smeary glass (and an angry wife).
Whilst doing some odd jobs this week I saw that WD40 dissolved glue and tar etc so I gave it a go.
It works like magic! just spray it on, rub gently and then wipe off with a clean cloth - job done in seconds.
Thought it might be useful info as i can't be the only idiot out there!

Thanks for the tip Phill.
I got a customer who had thier old proprty done about a year ago and have just had to put up with the windows with marks on. I'll give it a try on one pane, if it works I'll quote them to do the lot.

Try cellulose thinners from your automotive paint shop. Worked well for me as it doesn't leave an oily film on the glass. Don't smoke though or else BOOM!

I had a job last week, the windows were covered in waterseal. I bought some Titan Oilflow 141 and it came off a treat. You just wipe it on and wash off with conventional products (I use GG3). The owner of the house was very impressed. ;)
