Hi All,
I started Wfping about a week ago now and i am starting to get a bit quicker and more of a routine going.
I have cleaned my own windows several times and get a pretty good result. however when cleaning punters windows i get either a nice sheet of water or just a window covered in droplets with no sheeting these are normally on the ground floor so i have been blading these as i dont want to leave bad results until the tops are better. So what do you do? what should i expect if i wfp then leave all the droplets because so far any droplets left on the window about 10% leave marks.
Regards
Paul

this was my biggest problem when i started and still can create problems after 2 years running a wfp. here is what i have found that may be of some help.
1. 1st time you clean a house really clean well and run your water at a really good pressure and obviously follow the 1st and second clean method (assuming you know about this if not post me on theis thread asking what it is. always tell the customer that sometimes you will get some problems getting the windows up to speed for this new system.
2. if you get major spotting after this use a telescopic pole with t bar applicator for upstairs and just tbar for down and soap up the windows then wash with demineralised until all bubbles disappear. i don't know why this works. but possible causes in my thinking are.
silicone from window seals oil based detergent breaks the oil up.
methylated spirits or white spirits or some other oil based substance that has been used on the glass.
craig from ionics did admit to me that some glass is 'hydrophobic' sounds like a rabid dog doesn't it what he means is it has been treated to resist water. there is nothing you can do about this. escept increase the water pressure to get more rinse off.
one important tip if the droplets look greasy it's usually meths and you should immediately use detergent on an applicator as you will never eliminate this with demineralised water. hope this helps. :o

He's right, a high flow rate (greater than 1.3 Litres per minute) covers a multitude of sins.

Sorry to ask guys but I am interested in wfp. How do you cope with open windows?

Either ask customer to close them or most you can get away with a bit of care.(apart from sash windows) Otherwise get their tel no and call the day before.
