Title: Vehicle Insurance Time
Post by: EandM on March 27, 2025, 08:10:52 pm
My renewal arrived this week.
Normally if you ask for a discount you can typically knock £50 off.
But this time the price rise was a surprise.

Have insurance companies had a good year?

Mine’ll be going up. Employee hit the van. Second time in three years🫤 Both his fault👊

As will now my other van, my car & both my kid’s cars as I’m a named driver in theirs. I may have to come off theirs. Great👊👊

There has been talk that insurance prices have come down this year. I think it was Martin Lewis who said it.
So it might be worth double checking with other companies.
I managed to get my car insurance down by about £40 this year.

My renewal for my car was 20% down too.

I'm not hopeful for the fleet however. Written off brand new vans can't be good for renewals.  :-\

If my insurance stays the same then I'll be a happy camper. I don't want to expand because of all the hassle employing someone. All the complaints came back to me when I had someone helping me on jobs. I'm with Aplan/Howden and my renewal is in July so will let you all know how it goes. Never had any problem with them in the last 6 years.

You should be paying roughly 16% less this year, as premiums have dropped compared to last year.

Mine is down 18% so pretty close.
