Title: Commercial vinyl yellowing from edges inwards
Post by: J.Will on March 16, 2025, 09:09:47 am
We have a customer with a very light colour commercial vinyl that has been down about 7 years now. It’s started to yellow at the edges and has gradually got worse to the point where it’s almost orange from the edges in. Except for 2 inches round the very inside edge all the way round. As far as I’m aware their cleaners on site have been using a product called “screen” on their floors. It looks a right mess. Will upload a pic when next on site.  Tried a test spot with a high alkaline based cleaner but no difference at all. They do place a rubber backed gym mat onto this floor and have done for many years but suddenly the entire floor is orange. Could this just be a reaction between the vinyl and rubber or is there something else at work to make the floor orange ?
