Paying private companies to pump poop into your drinking water. Madness.

I'm expecting the English to wake up and rip out their water meters. Water should never be privatised because all they do is asset strip their customers to move the bill money straight into dividends for the share holders. Biggest legal racket I have ever seen, my water bill is less than £300 a year and I can take as much as I want.

Mine's just gone up again to £93 per month....nearly half of that is window water.

Wow, that's a lot! In our cul-de-sac there are 12 properties. The water meters are all in one area boxed in under a bush. The water board changed the meters in May this year. Me and a neighbour have been keeping an eye on the readings of them all. One house has used 6 cubic metres since May. One house used over 1000 cubic metres. Some have used 300-500 and others have used around 40. I've lived here 3 months and I got billed something like £30 for September to November. I think the water board might have effed up  ;D

im covered by southern water ,this is where im coming from theyve  made massive proffits and directors get massive bonuses every year ! for many many years ! but now because its all come  on top that theve oversteped the mark and been captured pumping excess sewage into rivers and sea ,they now want to up our bills because theve been creaming it off the top,and havent invested there huge profits  into in the infrastucture into there business how can that be fair !
would we get away in our business using a 16 foot pole where a 22 foot pole is required  to do a good job but still charge the same price ? no we wouldnt !!!
i apologise for my rant but this is the world we live in now in my opinion and i hope you guys can see where im coming from.
and just need to add this currently there are thousands of people of  under souther water with no running water into there houses !! and having to go to a water collection point  where they give you bottled  water  !! to this is end i rest my case

But that’s over 5 years not one instant price rise , ours is going up 27% , over 5 years

Apparently those rises are on top of inflation, they should be reducing the bills by 50%, cleaning the rivers up so our kids won't get ill when swimming and no bonuses or dived ends paid out until they sort it. They are protected by slimy politicians that probably get lots of money in their pockets from these companies.

No water meter at missus house but tds is 127 instead of 024 at my place.....

Decisions,decisions

I might have to go down the RO route in the end if i end up using a ridiculous amount of resin!

Try over 450 tds here, 127 would be a dream here!

You’ll need a RO at 127, it’ll last ages being so low TDS round your way. Better than going through loads of resin every month.

Up here Scottish Water is spending Billions on a new sewer system and our bills only rise with inflation. No dividends to shareholders nor massive wages but we are lucky. Labour yes Labour wanted to privatise it and we had a vote which came in at 97% not in favour so we were lucky. With all the old sewer network then I'm afraid your bills are only heading one way and water harvesting will be the name of the game.

2 x 11ltr vessels and 1.4mm jets. This way you'll not waste a scrap of resin (use the old resin to pre-filter the new) and you'll use less water.👍

I live in the south west and we have always had the highest water bills in the country. One time we were paying for the clean beaches, rip off at over hundred and five pound a month.

Over the last few years my water has gone from 027 to 450 and now it’s back down to 064.

Daz, just get a fixed RO and DI for inside the garage. I got one from Pure Freedom, it’s brilliant. Sod paying for endless amounts of resin and changing it over every week.

I use 2 x 25L vessels. I think I'll try the smaller jets. Thanks winpro.

I'll be changing my resin every 6 weeks or so not every week. I'll see how it goes....still not moved in yet and doesn't look likely for at least another 2 months yet...

At present I change my resin approx every 5 months so a big difference and it's tax deductible but I won't be able to claim a portion of my water bill because she's not on a water meter.

No. Hose up the stairs to my bathroom sink. Missus has outside tap right at the front of a large driveway so ideal.

It fits 4 cars on it so that's large compared to all the neighbours(it's a corner house).🤣🤣👍

Of course not! I don't think I would of gone wfp if I'd of been in communal flats/apartments. It's a first floor flat.

I park right outside my front door and it's straight up the stairs first door at the top to bathroom sink.

But I still don’t see the need to emphasise it’s a large driveway, when in the context driveway would have sufficed, it’s sort of like bragging isn’t it?

That’s good, I had it in my head you were running a hose up a bunch of communal stairs!

In August 2022 mine jumped from 80/90 to 250......ended up biting the bullet and shelling out for decent RO system with booster pump at about £1800.......in October 2022 it dropped back down 80/90 where it's stayed ever since.
The double DI I used to use usually lasted about a month max before changing.

Nope, I believe I’m older than you.I just thought that the word ‘large’ turned what would have been a sensible post into a pretentious one. Some people like to blow their own trumpet whilst others prefer to fly under the radar😉
