Hi Shawn,

yes we are doing a modular superlight carbon fibre pole.

We have just taken delivery of an initial batch of these poles and are placing them, at a very reduced price, with 10 people to get feedback from the end users.

If you are interested in this trial then give us a ring on 01726 61143 or drop us an email on sales@gardinerpolesystems.co.uk.

You can check out the specs on this pole on our website.

We have nearly filled the 10 places already for the trial run.

Hi Propole,

we haven't had time yet to get any Photos done of these poles, they are still in the packaging, we will work on that soon though.

Hi Jodan,

We are in the St.Austell area, we don't have a showroom/shop as we work mainly by mail-order, but if you give kirsty a ring on 01726 61143 she could schedule an appointment for you to come over (she has to work on an appointment basis as she is very busy).

You can read the short history of the new modular poles here.http://d.co.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=194&sid=70e18d03e557c046f06cd6009f265028
They are absolutely superb and are tomorrows tool, today.  :)
Just like any new equipement you need to take time to get used to the different way of using them. 7 years ago I tried in vain to get people using backpacks, at last they are taking off. Ditto these new poles.
Do not expect or wait for them to come down in price though because there is a world shortage of  carbon fibre and they seem to rise in price quarterly.
"Featherlight" and effortless. :)

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the interest so far in our trial run on the superlight poles.

I will reply and get in contact with all those that have sent me the details so far and posted above. At this time it seems that we have enough interest to fill the 10 spaces, but will post again if we have any vacancies left.

After a month's trial we will hope to be selling them retail in sizes ranging from 32ft to 58ft.

As Jeff has commented prices of carbon fibre are extremely volatile due to the stranglehold that the Japanese have on the market and prices seem to be rising by about 15% per month. Currently the retail price of these units is recommended by the manufacturer at £630 for the 45ft, that is if you bought them as Competition Carp Poles from a retailer-just for the pole sections.

Even after the trial we will be selling the complete package (pole sections, end caps, quick release gooseneck, lightweight brush, hose, pole control valve, and carry-case) for a lot less than this.

Hi Shawn,

Lets see if this works, it is quite difficult to show a 45ft pole fully extended but I have tried.  I had to hold the pole with one hand and take the shot with my other, thank goodness it's a super-lite!

One of the shots shows the pole in packed up form.

one other thing, is it piped inside the pole or is the water transferred through the pole itself if you know what I mean?  I really like the sound of 2.3kg @45ft, esp if we're not talking bank breaking prices.

How do you clean windows with that then?  ;D
Are you meant to climb up it?

Post by: Alex Gardiner on July 14, 2006, 07:11:07 pm
Hi Shawn,

I will put your name down as a definite. We will contact you next week to arrange delivery and payment. You could fit alost any brush to the gooseneck as it uses a standard screw thread on the end, however it would increase weight at the most important end of the pole, which would not be a good idea.

HI jm123,

I dont know if you can see it on the pictures but the hose is external and held to the pole by velcro straps, this provides the easiest solution to quickly taking off sections, we started by having the hose internal but it proved too complicated.

I will email you proposed prices later. (They are on our website under Pole specifications.)

this probably a silly question but are the poles robust?

I have been using one for 6 months now on commercial work, however I wouldn't want to stand on one as they are not that robust.

Post by: Alex Gardiner on July 14, 2006, 09:00:24 pm
Hi Shawn,

Having thought about it I would be prepared to sell it to you. I had been keeping it as a spare in the garage roof but I realise that with two 45ft super-lites in my armoury I will never go back to using it even in an emergency

It has had nearly 5 years of use but still is in very good working condition, it has an omnipole neck and 16 inch brush head. The pole hose has a flow valve fitted (slightly worn!) and I can fit whatever type of end fitting you wish. Postage would be about £18 for this as it is very large.

Let me know on alex@gardiner.e7even.com what you think it is worth.

Yes.

Hi Guys,

The website prices are not inclusive of VAT, but are not actually definite prices yet just a guide price.

Base section can be added whenever wanted and will cost about £45-50 each.

Alex, how do the sections stay together and can they be adjusted,do they fit inside each other?,Gaz
Title: Re: modular pole
Post by: Alex Gardiner on July 17, 2006, 03:36:29 pm
Hi Gaz,

The sections are a taper push fit which only need a light push to fit together. Once together they provide a wobble and rotating free joint. To remove simply twist and pull apart.

The pole can only be adjusted by taking a section off.

To pack it up the first 5 section pack away inside themselves.

Hope that this helps.

Alex
