Chatting to a customer who obviously works from home.
I said to him jokingly that I'm starting to do that as of next year. Five minutes later, after him extolling all the benefits of homeworking I'm wandering off trying not to shake my head.

I doubt he thought you meant window cleaning! Unless he thought you were coming off the tools. He might have thought you had a new business lined up or something. Doesn’t make him dumb. Some custys do do my head in mind ;D

I agree that sometimes others including customers appear not to be playing with a full deck of cards but I never make the mistake of thinking they are stupid even though they come out with some really dumb comments. I find it better to “never judge a book by its cover”

I've said and done some pretty dumb things myself over the years because of not paying attention to my surroundings or something someone has said. Like the time I stepped over a very low gate because I couldn't be bothered to bend down to open it, only to trip over something I didn't see in the grass on the other side and go flat out on my face on the lawn. That was embarrassing enough, but I did exactly the same thing in exactly the same place when I called back for my money later in the day. As I was going down for the second time I was thinking, "What an idiot." I felt an even bigger numpty when the customer opened the door and said he hoped I wasn't going to charge him for the acrobatics.

dont forget every time you judge someone or call someone dumb because of their actions or what they ve said......if you really think hard and search your conscience you ll find that you ve more than likely said and done the same at some point in your lifetime... ;D

A lifetime ago when I was a GM for a Car Company a woman and her Husband ? came to one of our outside summer shows and sat in the drivers seat of one of our cars, he sat in the passenger seat, after contemplating her navel for a length of time, she suddenly announced “Trevor that’s it, lets go, we are not buying one of these because I can’t see the front bumper from here”! Bemused at her ridiculous statement and before I could stop myself I said “Why is your current car transparent then”? She glared at me like she wanted me to drop dead and screamed “Trevor let’s go right now because he is a rude man as well”
