what's a liter ?

what's a liter ?
That's a spelling mistake, from one of the most respected people on this forum!
-
I dont see a problem with 800 in a van with a 1250 payload ............1000 would obviously be too much though .
-
what's a liter ?
;D ;D ;D
Where we come from we had a lot of American influence in school and liter is how they spell it. Is it amazing or amasing? Is it colour or color? Is it center or centre?
I always have to think about it and sometimes I get it wrong :)
I would be happy with an 800 litre tank in a van with a 1270 kg payload depending on other equipment carried but not a 1000 liter tank.
-
I'm not so sure I have a 2900 with 1250 payload and a 600 tank when full + reels 3/4 tank of fuel and 1 man it comes in at 2750
that gives me 150 for man 2 - so with an 800 tank and a pure freedom frame I would suspect to be a bit over....
having said that isn't there a vivaro spec for BT that had a higher payload ?

what's a liter ?
A metric unit of capacity, formerly defined as the volume of one kilogram of water under standard conditions, now equal to 1,000 cubic centimetres (about 1.75 pint)
-
i carry 800 in my van with a 1200 payload, tanks weighs 35kg so thats 835
Add 2 guys and 20 quid of diesel and would be around 1000kg or so... still leaves plenty of scope for rest of the gear depending what you carry
-
It would also depend on where the tank is situated. There are maximum limits for the front and rear axles.
It is possible to be within the total payload limit but to overload one of the axles.
The only way to know for sure if fill it up and take it to a wiegh bridge with all your gear and passenger in it.

That’s surprising?
Are you sure that weigh bridge was accurate? Those numbers don’t seem to add up.
Tank and water - 650kg
Reels - 50kg
Batteries and pumps etc - 50kg
Even other miscellaneous stuff I’m struggling to see Where does other 350kg comes from?
800 litre tank should be within the limits for a vivaro/traffic 2900

Yes weigh bridge accurate
It's so easy to under estimate weight - for example neither of the above have allowed for a frame a good steel frame is 50 kg the. There's some racking spare wheel - reels when full of water in the hose are heavy and times that by 2
As a matter of course each of my vans have been weighed - as an employer I needed to know where I stood legally - I'm just reporting what the vivaro came in at with 600 litre tank and bits/bobs
Anyone with an 800 tank a fully weighed there vehicle ?

Smudger, the payload in a T260 is about 970kgs (I used to own one many moons ago); I’m not sure I’d bother engaging with someone that thinks its ok to put a 1000litre tank in one mate.

I'm sure you could get a 3000 litre (liter) tank inside a T260 provided it was the right shape. You just couldn't put much water in it. ;D
There was a window cleaner in a local village that had a 650 liter flat tank in his 2002 Citroen Berlingo 600LX. He used to brim the tank every morning and that van was flat on its suspension. He did it every day for 6 or 7 years. He never got caught or pulled over for being over weight.
When he retired he sold the business and bought a PF trolley and does a few cleans to supplement his pension out of the back of the family car.
