Title: new accountant?

Just spoke to an accountant, he does sound good to be fair!

I'm currently paying tax assist £37.00 monthly, this guy wants roughly £160.00 per month to do our accounts as a limited company.

Is anyone paying this kind of money?

I'm £2000 p/a for a ltd co so about the same.

My accounts are straightforward though (I have one full time employee in the office and bookkeeping is part of their job) , I reckon my accountant spends about one day a year preparing my accounts.

Its all down to the complexity of the company, amount of employees, VAT Registered?  Etc Etc.   It's like Soupy says really if you have a good bookkeeper all the accountant does is check the books and sign them off.  A good bookkeeper is really worth their weight in gold because if they are good the accountant has virtually SFA to do.  I am different because I use my accountant for a lot of other things so I pay accordingly.  But what you have been quoted sounds fair if he knows his onions.

Hi mate.

I've just started a ltd co and got an account
I had a few quotes.

The one I'm using charges £72 per month for all tasks including payroll for me and one employee. The only exception is bookeeping, I must submit the books in a reasonable order at the end of the year.

I got quotes anywhere from 500 - 2000 !

Well this guy reckons he can help me with business advice etc.

Whereas tax assist only ever did my tax return, he does seem very knowledgeable and it would be good to have someone to turn to when needed.


Its just me and the wife currently, we plan to go ltd with the new guy as he reckons its best for our situation.
